Hard to believe it’s been over a year since we’ve posted anything, anywhere. Sixteen months to be exact!
We made a decision in January 2022 that took us in a completely different direction. We committed ourselves to that decision, ignoring what our gut told us and every red flag we encountered from day one. There were many! Jim and I are generally positive, adventurous, and light-hearted people. We try to bring good energy to everything we do, but by the end of 2022, almost all our good vibes eroded away. We genuinely thought we could overcome the myriad of challenges we faced daily. We truly believed we could turn things around for the better. It was an excruciatingly long, rough year that fought us tooth and nail and threatened to crush us energetically. We went into 2023 feeling deflated. We’re strong people; it takes a lot to do that to us. Jim’s way of always looking at life through a rose-colored lens suffered under the strain, and I found myself going through each day on autopilot. Thankfully, we decided it was time to get ourselves unstuck. The stress and instability that plagued us throughout that experience are finally in our rearview. We are quickly returning to feeling like ourselves again, more relaxed, and experiencing renewed energy and excitement for what’s ahead. The ordeal taught us a lot. We will now only align ourselves with what matches our energies, listen to our intuitions, seek our truth, and not sacrifice it for someone else’s. It’s time to be kinder to ourselves, laugh more, be present and intentional with where we shine our light, and return to trusting the journey. Stay Tuned...

When we set out to find a better solution for powering our camp setup, one that did not drain our starter battery, we were fortunate to have found the guys at Overland Power Solutions. They recommended and installed REDARC’s RedVision TVMS. It’s a DC to DC charging system that works seamlessly behind the scenes distributing power from our lithium battery to both fridges, camp lighting, multiple usb ports, inverter and more, that also provides power protection and ease of control.
We are able to monitor real-time data, such as the state of charge, charge input, load and condition of the lithium ion battery and have control of up to ten accessories through the system’s bluetooth connection with the RedVision app on our phones or from the control panel mounted just inside one of our CastleFab Cargo Keepers. Seamless and intuitive to use, one of the best things about REDARC’s RedVision System for us is that while managing the output of the power drawn from the Lithium battery and providing control from one central system for everything we rely on in camp, as well as allowing for solar input, there is never any draw on the starter battery. Also, it’s just some pretty darn cool tech! If you’re looking for a custom power solution for your off-grid adventure rig, need advice on the best way to power your adventure or want a custom install done right, we definitely recommend getting in touch with the guys at Overland Power Solutions! They’ve done an outstanding job getting our off-grid overland power needs sorted which has allowed us to focus more on the adventure!
