Welcome to our Website!
We are Jim and Deb Kriegshauser, a couple of self-professed Trail-Nuts with a Jeep named Julius.
To say we love our Jeep and off-roading is putting it lightly. It’s our passion!
It isn’t just about our Jeep and the build, though that’s been part of the fun through the years as well! It’s been more of an evolving thing, a journey, if you will. The getting, the building, the rock crawling, the inevitable trail-fixes, the exploration of remote places and simply meandering down endless trails just to see where they go. This has all been an essential part of the process! One that has brought us closer together as a couple and one that keeps us excited about EVERYTHING! It keeps us forever engaged in the present.
We have two kids in their 20’s, James and Madison. They never cease to amaze and impress us as they embark on their own journeys in life. We couldn’t be prouder of them for the people they’ve become and the paths they are choosing. Now as empty-nesters, we have embarked on a whole new journey ourselves. But not one that is entirely new to us. When the kids were young and as they grew up, we would pack up the vehicle and dirt bikes and head out on various journeys, often with no particular destination in mind. We loved finding trails to explore, stunning views to behold and adventures to be had.
For the better part of the last several years, we have made the road our home, like feathers in the wind, traveling extensively out west. We enjoy immensely the camaraderie of the 4x4 off-roading community. Along the way, our lives have been enriched by the many great folks we have met. We yearn to get out to those far flung spaces, lost in a map's fold, where nature is at it's rawest. It's in our DNA, our senses are heightened and we feel most alive. Sometimes it's not even about getting anywhere in particular. It’s purely and simply about the journey. Jeeping has also fueled our love for photography and for making the occasional video to document our adventures, if only to share and hopefully inspire others to get out and take the path less traveled.
Our Jeep is not the be-all and end-all, but it does remind us in so many ways to stay curious, to seek adventure, and to not be overly focused on the destination. It reminds us not to get so caught up in monotonous routine and to be willing to take the path less traveled, even if it's fraught with diff-biting rocks and not always well-marked.
Trust the Journey!!!
There’s a recipe there for a life well-lived, of that we are sure!
On this site we share videos & photos of our journeys, plus information about the Trail-Nuts and our Jeep!

JP Magazine
2012 Jeep JKU Rubicon Rocklander Goes Wherever it Wants
March 2020 print addition of JP Magazine.
Author - Stuart A. Bourdon
Rockcrawlers and overlanders seem like they might be two completely different branches of the off-road enthusiast tree. One enjoys tackling difficult trail obstacles, and therefore builds a rig that has as much wheel travel and axle articulation as possible, with low gearing to creep over big rocks. The other seeks to travel dirt roads and off-road trails deep into the wilds, explores new places, and camps independently under the stars. These rigs are built for long-distance travel, with enhanced overnighting and livability upgrades.
