The story of DJK Films
Started by Deb Kriegshauser in 2012 when she launched the Vimeo and YouTube Channels where she uploaded the videos she created of Jeep adventures with the Hill Country Crawlers, a Central Texas Jeep Club as well as other Jeep videos of our own outings.
A little Sony Handy Cam was her first video camera, which was later upgraded to an HD Sony HXR-NX70U mounted on a glide pole gimbal for smoother video and Jim used the small Sony Handy Cam for camera B (also later upgraded to the same HD Sony video camera). We eventually added a DJI drone and GoPro.
Deb has become a little more fearless and creative with each project. She has developed a unique style of capturing angles that most would not attempt, getting in close and moving around the vehicle as it tackles an obstacle. She often runs most of the trails and frequently appears out of nowhere to catch the shots.
Capturing the right shot and best angle is only part of the story. Editing was something Deb had not done much of prior to starting DJK Films. She jumped right in and learned Adobe Premiere, spending hours editing video clips and sourcing the right music in order to create an outstanding finished product. She unleashed a talent and passion she did not know existed and became better and more creative with each project.
We were asked to be the wedding videographer on two occasions by our Jeep friends. Now that is some stress…. but we were honored to be asked and proud of the finished product.
Over the years we have filmed our adventures with the Hill Country Crawlers at Hidden Falls Adventure Park, Katemcy Rocks/K2, and The Canyons, as well as Southwestern Colorado, Moab and the iconic Rubicon Trail. As we venture out on our journey across the west, we have uploaded a Trail-Nut series of videos featuring a few of the trails we have wheeled on our own, a series of ModernJeeper Adventure videos and other groups of off-road enthusiasts we have joined up with along the way. Stay tuned, we will share more as we go!
That’s the story behind DJK Films. We are NOT paid professionals who have been hired to film events, weddings, or Jeep adventures. We are amateurs who enjoy sharing what we do and are passionate about off-roading, capturing Jeep adventures & events for our family and friends.
